Pantophobia at a Glance

• What: "The Wrath of Cyrus Grain," a 1-mile outdoor haunted walking trail that takes about 35 to 40 minutes. It is the only attraction in 2026. The hayride for toddlers and smaller kids is off this year while the park is under construction; we plan to bring it back next year.
• Where: Darlington Lake in Darlington County Park, 600 Darlington Ave, Mahwah, NJ 07430 (Bergen County). Free parking. It's a long walk from the lot to the haunt, so arrive early.
• When: Fridays and Saturdays from October 2 and Sundays from October 11, through Halloween night, Saturday, October 31, 2026.
• Hours: Fridays and Saturdays: 8 to 10 pm through October 10, then 8 to 11 pm from October 16 on. Sundays: 8 to 10 pm.
• Timed tickets: 30-minute entry windows. Arrive 15 minutes before your time. If you are running late, you can still go in up to 30 minutes after your time starts, except at the end of the night: on nights we close at 10 pm, be in line by 9:15 pm (10:15 pm on nights we close at 11 pm), even if your ticket shows a later time. A ticket for the last time slot is still good; just be in line by then. Pick your night and time.

The Legend of Cyrus Grain continues to grow as his family's old farm land has been developed into a shopping center. Cyrus seekers have documented videos of a shadowy figure they believe to be Cyrus Grain along the lake at Darlington Park in Mahwah, legend has it that Cyrus will do whatever it takes to keep all trespassers off what he believes to be the last of his family's land. Cyrus has been seen lurking in the woods, between buildings, and along the roads at Darlington Park in Mahwah NJ.
